MLHS Choir Program
The Milwaukee Lutheran High School Choral Program has a rich and vibrant history of giving glory to God throughout Southeast Wisconsin, the United States, and the World, sharing our gifts through music and following God wherever he may lead us.

  • To fully appreciate the beauty of choral music and the heritage of Lutheran music, the MLHS choir has determined that the following objectives are necessary to a complete and comprehensive understanding of music.
  • To nurture the development of music appreciation and understanding through performance of quality sacred and secular repertoire.
  • The provide music skills through theory, sight reading, and score identification.
  • To develop interested and discriminating listeners and provide a well-rounded musical background for its members.
  • To provide all MLHS choral students with the ability and skills necessary to pursue music at the collegiate level while providing an opportunity for a worthy use of leisure time, an emotional outlet, and an awareness of different cultures and social experiences. It is hoped that these experiences will lead to a continual pursuit of music in adult life as a discriminating listener and performer.

Here is an excellent article about music, worship, and the late Robert Shaw, one of America's most prominent choral conductors and an avowed Christian.
